Michigan's State Capitol

Designed by Elijah Myers and originally dedicated in 1879, Michigan’s Capitol was rededicated in 1992 after a painstaking three-year restoration that won top awards from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. That same year, our Capitol was designated a National Historic Landmark, an award given to fewer than 2,500 of America’s most important historic places.
