The Greater Lansing region is in the middle of, well – everything. We’re close to one of the biggest and best research universities in the world (Michigan State University) and home to some of the smartest people anywhere. Some of the nation’s fastest-growing companies are making their homes and their plans here, as well.
The Greater Lansing region is also a hub of finance and insurance activity. And, while finance and insurance jobs may be less exciting than, say, cleaning up crime scenes, they’re also less messy. Besides, “actuary” is consistently ranked among the best careers available based on environment, income, employment outlook, physical demands, security and stress – with minimal exposure to bloodborne pathogens. “Financial planner” and “accountant” rank right up there, too.
A number of major insurance companies have their headquarters here, as do a number of banks and credit unions.
